Hello,

Our incredible staff has been working in shifts 24 hours per day for 85 days straight to provide shelter, casework, meals, support, and security to homeless women during the COVID-19 pandemic. They have celebrated guests’ birthdays, helped them secure new jobs, and even drove one pregnant guest to the hospital to give birth to her gorgeous baby, who is one of the newest residents at the hotel we’re operating as an emergency shelter.

During this time, we have seen a transformation in our guests. For some, simply having consistent access to shelter, food, and rest has created the physical and emotional capacity to take on other challenges in their lives, like finding jobs and transitioning to permanent housing.

We knew after the early success of this emergency program that we needed to make the shelter permanent.

We are thrilled to announce that we have acquired a building  to continue operating a shelter for women experiencing homelessness in Memphis. We’re calling it the Hub Hotel.

Work is nearly complete to update the interior and exterior of the new Hub Hotel.

Next week, women who have been staying in a local hotel as part of our program will move into the Hub Hotel, which will welcome all women experiencing homelessness until the construction of the shelter on Washington Street is completed sometime next year.

To help us prepare the Hub Hotel for move-in next week, please gift an item from one of our registries linked below by this Friday:

Help us make these rooms feel like home
with bedding, rugs, lighting, curtains, and decor from our registries.

We can’t wait to share more once guests have settled into the Hub Hotel!

Thanks,
The Hospitality Hub Team
