Hours

The Hospitality Hub is currently open during the following hours:

Mondays 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Wednesdays 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Fridays 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Future hours will be added as additional volunteers come forward.

 

Services

The following services will be provided to our homeless guests.
Future services will be added once we receive funding.

  • The Hub will offer any homeless person the opportunity to use the toilet facilities, to receive a cup of coffee or water and/or to rest on one of the couches provided.

  • Point of entry - Counselors can provide guests who are new to homelessness with information about and/or referrals to the various services within the community that may help meet their needs.

  • Mail delivery and pickup - Guests may use the Hub's address to receive their mail.

  • Telephone - Guests will be allowed to use the telephone for local as well as long-distance calls (with restrictions).

  • Internet - Guests will be able to check their email and access the internet.

  • Resource identification and referral - Volunteers from various churches and other groups meet with guests to identify their needs and make referrals to community organizations that can meet their needs.

  • Travelers' aid - Guests may be provided with travelers' aid, when funds are available. In appropriate circumstances, we assist guests in reaching destinations that may help them with employment, reconnecting with families, etc.

  • Identification/Birth certificates - We help guests apply and pay for birth certificates and Tennessee ID cards. We offer a weekly service to a Driver’s License Testing station for those guests that are ready to get their ID’s.

  • Counseling - Clergy members and volunteers provide counseling to those guests in need of this service.

  • Spiritual services - There is a small chapel area in the Hub that we use for devotional services, times of quiet respite for the Hub's guests and for counseling. Attendance or participation in any spiritual services is not a requirement of guests receiving other services provided by the Hub.

  • Locker storage - We offer locker space where our guests can individually and securely store a small quantity of belongings.

  • Future Services (hopefully soon)

  • Laundry service - Volunteers will wash and dry the clothes of the Hub’s guests.

  • Transportation - Cab vouchers and MATA bus passes for those guests who need to temporary assistance getting to job interviews, work and health appointments.

  • Housing vouchers - Limited assistance, when appropriate, for temporary housing at one of Memphis’ emergency shelters.
