Letters to the HUB

“The HUB was indispensible in getting me to where I am today.”

Hello,

My name is Lisa and I am 37 years old. Due to circumstances beyond my control I was homeless and living in a tent by the Mississippi River. And I got pregnant. I needed some help fast. The Hospitality HUB offered me a lot of needed services.

First, they are a place that is “condemnation free”, where you can talk to someone about your problems. I used the HUB’s lockers to lock up some valuables of mine or just keep from having to carry things around town. I also used the computers to set up an email address and did searches for jobs and schools. The HUB also helped me get my birth certificate from the state where I was born and then assisted me in getting my state I.D.

Finally, Ms. Beatrice Kimmons--and I will always love her— gave me a referral to the long-term recovery program for women in crisis that I am currently in.

My baby is now 7 months old and we are both doing well. The HUB was indispensible in getting me to where I am today.

Love to you all,

Lisa
