About Us
Our History and Role
Opening its doors in May 2007, the Hospitality HUB was founded by the Downtown Churches Association out of a desire to establish a centralized “hub” of information and services for homeless persons in Memphis. We are unique in that we serve as a “point of entry” into the larger network of services offered throughout the city. Our role is:
- To warmly welcome each person who comes to the HUB. No referrals are necessary
- To access the root cause of each guest’s homelessness through an intake interview
- To make referrals to other social service providers and organizations in the private sector that offer more long-term solutions to problems with mental illness, drug and alcohol addiction, employment and housing
- To assist with short-term and immediate support services and to provide emotional support and guidance to guests for 3 months
